Washington: The U.S. Senate has endorsed President Joe Biden's proposed Secretary of State.
The American State Department will be headed by a longtime associate of the 46th President Anthony Blinken.
On Monday, he received bipartisan support from the Senate Committee. Only three Republicans voted against.
Blinken served as national security adviser to current US President Joe Biden during his tenure as vice president. He also served as Deputy Security Advisor to US President Barack Obama and Deputy Secretary of State.
