Kyiv: Former United States Ground Forces Commander in Europe General Ben Hodges says Georgia should become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance immediately. The general speaks about this in a letter published in EUObserver.
"Let 's build a new, stronger relationship with Armenia and Azerbaijan, strengthen our long - standing alliance with Turkey, and strengthen our presence in Georgia, including US Air Force and Navy infrastructure. We must also send an invitation to Georgia to become a NATO member immediately." Hodges.
According to him, these messages to the Kremlin will be a sign that this region is of strategic interest to the West.
"The West must strengthen its position in the South Caucasus if we are to avoid conflict between the great powers," he said.
