Kyiv: Ukraine can become candidate for EU membership in 2027, Lithuania’s Ambassador to Ukraine Valdemaras Sarapinas stated in interview with ,,Interfax-Ukraine’’.
,,In 2027, when Lithuania will be secondly chair of European Council, EU will be able to declare Ukraine’s nomination for membership’’, he said.
Besides that, according to ambassador, in the midst of 2021 fourth conference of Ukraine’s reforms is planned that will have to facilitate enhancing reform process.
,,There is difficult task for Ukraine: Resolving problems of Crimean occupation and part of Eastern Ukraine and fulfilling structural reforms, simultaneously. Moreover, as other countries, you ought to fight against Covid-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, Ukraine made huge move for fulfilling important reforms’’, diplomat added.
It should be reminded, that Association Agreement between Ukraine and EU was ratified with EU on July 11, 2017.
