Kiev: Today, January 27, is the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. It was on this day in 1945 that the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz (Auschwitz) was liberated.
During the Holocaust, the Nazis killed more than 6 million Jews and Roma. Unfortunately, there is no named list of victims who suffered during the genocide.
The date of the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust was set in 2005 at a meeting of the UN General Assembly. Israel, Ukraine, Canada, Australia, the USA and Russia became the initiators of the adoption of this resolution, and more than 90 states adopted it.
