Washington: President of the United States of America Joe Biden signed a decree canceling the emergency situation on the border with Mexico, introduced in February 2019 by US President Donald Trump.
Biden signed the corresponding document on Wednesday, January 20, at the White House, local TV channels report.
In addition, Biden signed another decree that stopped the construction of the wall on the border with Mexico. According to official figures, as of January 5, 727 kilometers of the wall were erected.
Recall that in 2019, US President Donald Trump promised to build from 720 to 800 kilometers of the wall on the border with Mexico. Later, Trump announced the introduction of an emergency regime, which, according to Trump, was supposed to stop illegal migration into the country.
