Kiev: During 2020, inflation in the consumer market was 5.0%, core inflation - 4.5%. This was reported by the press service of the State Statistics Service.
"Inflation in the consumer market in December 2020 compared to November 2020 amounted to 0.9%, for the year as a whole - 5.0%. Core inflation in December 2020 compared to November 2020 amounted to 0.3%, year as a whole - 4.5%," - said the message.
Note that according to this information, in the consumer market in December, prices for food and non-alcoholic drinks increased by 1.7%. Eggs rose in price the most (by 16.1%). Prices for vegetables, sugar, sunflower oil, milk and dairy products, bread, processed cereal products, pasta, poultry, butter, rice, lard rose by 8.3-0.9%.
"At the same time, pork fell in price by 1.0%. Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 0.5%, which is associated with a rise in prices for tobacco products by 1.7%. Clothes and footwear fell by 4.6%, including clothing - by 5.0%, footwear - by 4.2% The rise in prices (tariffs) for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.1% was mainly due to the increase in tariffs for hot water, heating by 1.4%. Prices for transport increased by 0.7% primarily due to the rise in prices for fuel and oils by 2.5%", - the State Statistics Service noted.
Recall, according to the State Statistics Service, consumer prices in Ukraine in November rose by 1.3% against a month earlier and by 4.1% since the beginning of the year. In annual terms, inflation accelerated to 3.8%.
