Warsaw: Poland recognizes 102nd anniversary of gaining independence on Wednesday, November 11.
This year Poland celebrates the Independence Day in the lockdown period established in the background Covid-19 pandemic.
According to local media, president of Poland Andrzej Duda is laying wreaths in front of monuments of Fathers of Independence, also taking part in Holy Mass for Homeland in the church of Divine Providence.
According to minister of Polish president’s office Wojciech Kalarski, today’s celebration will be significantly different from traditional way.
,,This event will be completely different. In this time, it will prompt us not to reflect only what independence means for us today, but also signals us that we are available for taking care of each other, implementing to follow there rules, implementation which serves us all, serving for overcoming this terrible epidemic we are fighting against now’’, Kalarski said.
In particular, this year authorities cancelled ceremony of state awards in President Palace. Besides that, Andrzej Duda’s speech will be broadcast via TV at 12:30 pm.
