Montreal: Group of protesters toppled statue of first prime minister of Canada John Alexander Macdonald in Montreal, Canadian media reported on Sunday.

It should be noted, that the statue was removed from the pedestal with tied ropes and, as a result of fall, its head came off.

,,Incident took place in the aftermath of anti-racism protest calling for the defunding of the police force’’, CBC states.

Previously, citizens of Montreal demanded mayor of the city Valérie Plante to dismantle the monument but she didn’t respond to them.
