Kyiv: Sports tournaments of national and international level, the holding of which was planned in areas where martial law has now been introduced, are not canceled. Restrictions can be applied only if there is information from the SBU and law enforcement agencies about the serious danger of citizens. Information about this was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports on its official website.
“The Ministry of Youth and Sports works in a regular mode: youth events and projects are being implemented, planned training camps for national teams, visits to international competitions (except the aggressor country of the Russian Federation), sports and fitness activities are carried out in the Unified Calendar plan for 2018, ” - this was made in a statement.
In addition, the ministry assured that during mass sporting events in these regions security measures will be strengthened.
"The decision on the participation of athletes, military personnel and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Service and other law enforcement agencies in sports events under martial law is made by their direct command," the agency added.
Recall, on November 26, during the extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Presidential Decree “On the Imposition of Martial Law in Ukraine” was approved for a period of 30 days.
