The blockchain platform was used to vote in the recent midterm elections in the United States. This was stated by the Secretary of State of West Virginia Mac Warner.
During the November mid-term elections, thanks to a platform developed by a Voatz startup, 144 US military stationed in 24 countries around the world were able to vote. This is the first project of its kind in the United States aimed at solving an important problem: for example, during the 2016 presidential election, only 18% of the 2 million military personnel and their families were able to vote, and only 11% of the votes were taken into account.
For the first time, the Voatz application was tested in May of this year during the Senate elections. Then the military and their relatives from two districts of the state were able to use their right to vote.
