Kyiv: World Chess Olympiad in which About 4 thousand representatives from 189 countries will take part started in Batumi on September 23rd and will last till October 6th.
4,000 foreign guests are expected to arrive in Batumi for the Olympics, Georgian Chess Federation reports.
They also noted that during the Olympics there will be elections of the president of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).
Recall that for the last 23 years, the president of FIDE was Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.
